Doctoral student MK Kitzmiller earned the Hiram E. Fitzgerald Engaged Scholar Fellowship. This award supports recipients’ professional development and is conferred upon graduate students whose community engaged research is focused on the study of or prevention of adverse childhood experiences. MK is a perfect fit for this award-- she is a community-engaged researcher who studies the impact of system involvement (especially parental incarceration) on child development.
